R&D Electrical/Biomedical Engineer

As an R&D engineer for NeuroOne Medical Technologies, you will be advancing the neurotech field by developing thin-film devices for brain implants, for which our company has been the first one to gain FDA’s clearance. You will work closely with the Director of Electrode Development and R&D team to design, test and manufacture Class II and Class III medical devices. You will gather design inputs, create documentation essential for our quality system, and interface with manufacturers and internal resources to develop prototypes and assess their performance. Creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and communication are essential, as you use best engineering practices in the design, analysis, and verification of components, assemblies, and systems. Your fundamental knowledge and experience in electrical engineering, laboratory equipment and bioengineering will be applied to medical device development.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data to aid in definition of product specifications.
  • Create and execute test methods for design verification and validation activities
  • Ability to set up and troubleshoot instrumentation.
  • Designing new products and product accessories, including PCB, multi-channel devices, test boards etc.
  • Sustaining engineering of commercial products, including coordination and hands-on support to device supplier.


  • (Required) 2+ years of experience in R&D in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience, particularly in testing and/or prototyping medical devices or medical device components.
  • Experience with instrumentation such us oscilloscopes, potentiostats, DC/AC/RF generators, DAQ, signal generators.
  • Experience with 3D/2D CAD design.
  • Experience working with energy delivery devices such as RF generators, electrical stimulators, pulse generators, particularly related to in-vivo applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thrives in an interdisciplinary team setting.
  • Enthusiasm for building things that work and improve people’s lives
  • Medical Device experience preferred but not required.
